Types of components in Sitecore XM Cloud

We were exploring the XM Cloud interface and I thought the types of the components and it’s purpose was something that is important to share as it gives everyone an overview of what you get when you opt for XM Cloud.

Here’s a quick overview of the different types of components in Sitecore XM Cloud:

  • OOTB (Out of the Box) Components: Pre-configured components provided by Sitecore that require minimal setup. These include basic functionality like forms, navigation, and content rendering elements.
      • Sitecore Components: Custom components developed specifically using Sitecore’s framework and platform capabilities. These can be tailored to meet specific content management or experience delivery needs.
      • SXA Components (Sitecore Experience Accelerator): Reusable and pre-built components that accelerate website development, enabling drag-and-drop capabilities for layout and design without needing deep technical expertise.
      • BYOC (Bring Your Own Components): Custom-built components, typically developed by external developers or teams, that can be integrated into XM Cloud to meet specific functional or design requirements beyond what’s offered by default.

Hope this information helps when you start your journey on XM Cloud!

Thank you.. Keep Learning.. Keep Sitecoring.. 🙂
