Lets understand what is Sitecore and then we will try to learn it. So consider Sitecore as a software that enables you to control the content of the website which is also known as Content Management System. So Sitecore is Web Content Management System(WCMS) based on the .Net framework so it jewels well with Microsoft technologies.
So anyone who is familiar with .Net framework as ASP.Net Web forms or MVC will find it easier to understand the concept and learn it quickly.
Before we jump to the learning, we will need to understand below questions:
- What type of machine is required?
- What softwares we will need?
- Where we will get trial license for Sitecore?
- Where we will find the Sitecore setup file?
Once we get answers for all these questions, we are ready to start learning Sitecore.
So lets try to answer these questions one by one:
1. What type of machine is required?
Ans: We will need Windows machine with below configuration:
- 4 core processor
- 16 GB of RAM
2. What softwares we will need?
Ans: IIS 8.5, Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit), .NET Framework 4.6.1 or later, Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 or later, Microsoft SQL Server 2014 SP2, and Solr 5.2.1.

3. Where we will get trial license for Sitecore?
Ans: Now Sitecore provides you with the trial license for 60 days but once you request it might take 2-3 working days to receive it.

4. Where we will find the Sitecore setup file?
Ans: To download the Sitecore setup file, we will need to create an account in Sitecore. Initially it was only Certified developers who were able to download the setup files but now Sitecore has decided to give the trial period of 60 days for beginners. You might also receive the link to download the file in the license email.
